Magic ice cube DIY!

Sometimes on a hot day small children can get a little temperamental. So I came up with a way to cool off and will keep people busy. Everyone who I have made this for likes it and has fun trying to warm up the ice cube to get the treasures out.

What you will need:
A container to put your water in (I used a mini bundt pan to make it a cool shape)
Little water proof trinkets and treasures (I used coins, legos, marbles, beads and rocks but you can try almost anything out!)
Water
A freezer
Time (you do need about 20 minutes to an hour before you add the next layer becuse you need it to freeze)

Step 1: Gather
I found things around the house in junk drawers, our playroom and outside in our yard. Just look and see what you can find!

Step 2: Layer and freeze
Take 5 to 7 items and lay them a the bottom of your contater. Put just enough water into your container to cover your items (don't worry if some of them float). Repeat until you run out of items or you reach the top of the container. If you have a little space left you can put a layer of just water to seal in the items at the top. BONUS IDEA: Add some food coloring to your water for fun colors!

Step 3: Have fun!
Take your mold out of the freezer and run warm water over it to detach it from the mold!

Then set it outside and play! I have found that that the kids I have done this with really like trying to get the treasures out with there hands which is an awesome fine motor activity.

You are done Yay!!
